Updates About what we are doing in Hooley

Surrey County Council are once again looking for volunteers to support our Community Tree planting volunteer days this winter. We are planting 20 trees, and 280 saplings as hedgerows on the green at Church Lane Drive (CR5 3RG) next Tuesday January 14th at 10am, and we would love some support to plant. The session should be completed within 3 hours (but could be quicker if we have a good volunteer turnout). We would really appreciate any help you can offer us to share this event locally. Bus service “urgently needed” for village, says councillor – BBC News Published November 2024 A Surrey village on the border with London “urgently” needs a bus service, says a local councillor, but authorities on either side of the boundary are refusing to fund it. Residents of Netherne-on-the-Hill have to walk about half a mile (0.8km) to the village of Hooley to catch a bus to Coulsdon Town railway station. Ward councillor Shasha Khan said the walk was “not pleasant” when it’s dark and that it was an issue for elderly people…
