We are writing to inform you about work that is due to begin shortly on the A23 Brighton Road, at the Star Lane and Netherne Drive junctions in Hooley. The traffic lights, pedestrian crossings and electrical installations around these two junctions are approaching the end of their serviceable life. To ensure the traffic lights continue to operate safely and reliably we are replacing them with more modern equipment.
This work is scheduled to start on Monday 6 November 2023 and end in March 2024. We will be working on both junctions simultaneously to reduce the overall duration of work and will refresh the road markings at the junctions at the same time.
We will be carrying out this work overnight to minimise the disruption to traffic but recognise this will create some noise at night. A letter to residents providing the details of work, traffic management arrangements and how we intend to minimise disturbance from noise is attached for your information.
