Trees for Hooley – Making Hooley greener

I wanted to update you all on my mission to ‘make Hooley greener’ by getting more trees planted throughout Hooley.

As many of you are aware, the Hooley Residents Association has been in discussions with Reigate and Bansted council to get permission to plant more trees throughout Hooley (they own the green spaces). The discussions started a year ago, and we nearly lost hope as they were very non-commital with giving any answers.

After speaking to Councillor Mus Tary at our Annual General Meeting last November, he has been able to facilitate moving this project along and has helped us in securing permission to plant more trees throughout Hooley!

The agreement from Reigate and Banstead Council is that we can plant trees, but we are responsible for the maintenance and the watering of them. So my promise to you is that you will finally see some new trees planted throughout Hooley in the very near future! If I can ask you to please water these new trees if you are able to, that would be a great help to keep them alive and grow big and strong.

If you want to know more, please get in contact with me at [email protected]

All the best,

Julie Heard
